In simultaneous interpreting, the speech is reproduced seconds later in another language. Appropriate technical equipment (booths, sound equipment, receivers with headphones) is required for this purpose. 

Because this type of interpreting requires maximum concentration and is mentally exhausting, interpreters work together as a team. This way they can alternate every 20-30 minutes. Depending on the length and complexity of the event, a team consists of two to three interpreters per cabin. 

This method is suited to multilingual events and conferences as well as seminars and negotiations in which the delay that occurs during consecutive interpreting should be avoided. Simultaneous interpreting is also used in radio and TV interviews.
